A review of content, effects, and functions of sexual information in consumer advertising.
One of the best research about sex in advertising that I have ever read. It was done by Tom Reichert in 2002. This research basicaly analyzes all moderate researches and tries to make a conclusion out of them. It starts with the analysis from a historical point of view, which is followed by current situation. Next he analyzes how different gender groups, age groups and social groups are sensible to this persuasive strategy. The whole research consists of examples which are easy to find on the internet according to their name. For a person interested in such topic, from a point of view of research and so on, I have not found a better one so far.
After reading this research article I have to agree that this is really very persuasive one. I also agree with Reicherts analysis of how different gender groups, age groups and social groups are sensible to this persuasive strategy. I think if more such researches will be done, there would be a better understanding in usage of persuasive techiques and it would be easier to determine what sells.
